Chronic Ice claims to be America's first drink containing hemp, the oldest cultivated plant packed with vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids. Each serving of the antioxidant-rich tea contains only 80 calories and is free of preservatives and high fructose corn syrup. Therefore, it will get you healthy, but not high.
"Although its name is a play on marijuana, Chronic Ice does not contain any cannabis or THC," says Tony Van Pelt, founder of the beverage.
Made with organic sugar cane, a green and black tea blend, lemon essence, ascorbic acid and hemp seed extract, it has been tested by oncologists and enjoyed by thirsty rappers like Lil’ Wayne, 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg.
Currently, Chronic Ice can only be imbibed in Southern California and Washington State, but the company is negotiating further distribution. New flavors are also on the way, as well as new policies for sourcing 100% of the tea’s ingredients through organic fair trade suppliers.
