Shaun Corey Carter, also known as Jay-Z and Hova, is almost ready to release Decoded, an intimate, first-hand account of himself, his work, and his culture. The fully-illustrated book decodes 36 songs to reveal the mystical meanings behind the lyrics. But before the book hits shelves November 16th, Jay-Z has come up with a clever way to promote it.
He's partnered with Microsoft's search engine Bing to stage a global scavenger hunt for pages of the book, which are placed at actual locations, as well as at virtual versions.
New clues are given each day, fans use Bing to find the locations of the pages, then they are entered into a contest to win prizes, including autographed pages and tickets to see him perform with Coldplay in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve.
The game begins today and runs through November 20.
