Looking for a good read? Legendary rockers Billy Joel and Steven Tyler will both release memoirs this spring, and publisher Harper Collins promises emotional tales of sex, drugs, and rock and roll.
Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?
Coming to bookstores on May 10, Steven Tyler’s Does the Noise in My Head Bother You? is a “cathartic” memoir chronicling the rocker’s childhood, the formation of Aerosmith, the ups and downs the band has experienced in the last forty years, and Tyler’s relationship with his children.
“God, a memoir. A memoir like this is beyond cathartic. It’s one step better than having an album with your songs on it from the ’70s and it being 2010,” Tyler said in a video message on his website.
The Book of Joel
Hitting shelves on June 14, publisher Harper Collins promises that The Book of Joel will be an “emotional ride,” revealing to the readers “the life events that brought the original inspiration for his songs ... [and] insights into the process of writing and recording them.”
The Just the Way You Are and New York State of Mind artist’s troubled marriage to supermodel Christie Brinkley and struggles with depression and substance abuse will also be covered in the upcoming memoir.
“There is a lot in this book he has never revealed before,” said David Hirshey, Joel’s editor at Harper Collins.
