When one thinks of top designers, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen don’t exactly come to mind (at least to me). However, the twins who got rose to stardom after playing Michelle Tanner on ABC’s Full House took home the biggest prize at the annual Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards – Top Womenswear Designers!
"I'd like to thank you -- you," Mary-Kate, 25, said to her twin at the New York awards ceremony last week.
Jessica Chastain presented the Olsens with their award. The twins earned the coveted honor for their collection known as Row. The line is named after a well-known shopping street in London’s Mayfair district.
Row certainly isn’t the Olsens’ first foray into the fashion industry. The actresses turned fashion designers have been the driving force of a number of fashion and beauty lines, including Mary-Kate and Ashley: Real fashion for Real Girls, Elizabeth & James, Olsenboye, and StyleMint.
The sisters have also published Influence, a book profiling some of the most prominent people in the fashion industry.
