Does texting and Facebook communication cause women to hop into the sack sooner? According to a poll in Men’s Fitness and Shape magazines, the answer is yes. Nearly 40% of the women surveyed admitted that sexy texts and Facebook messages were causing them to slip into bed with a partner earlier than normal. Why?
"The texting and all the social networking that's happening . . . creates anticipation," Dr. Belisa Vranich, said on The Today Show (video after the jump). "If your goal is to have sex, texting is actually helpful for that because it makes the correspondence between people sort of more titillating.”
"It gives the false impression that you've actually been together for a longer amount of time, so it's actually OK to have sex quicker," she added. "You may have gone out once or twice, but since there's been so much exchange, either in texting or Facebook, it feels longer. It actually feels like its been longer than just two dates."
Men too, let technology influence their sex lives. Three out of five of the fellows surveyed said Facebook and texting caused them to do the deed sooner.
